The Alzheimer's Society, East Cheshire

The Alzheimer's Society East Cheshire Branch aims to improve quality of life for people with all forms of dementia and their carers by offering information, advice and emotional support. As we are responsible for our own income we rely heavily on donations.
The Aplastic Anaemia Trust
The Aplastic Anaemia Trust was formed from two organisations - the Marrow Environment Fund (MEF) and the Aplastic Anaemia and MDS Support Group.
The MEF was founded in 1985 by the families and friends of children who had died of aplastic anaemia . With their help a specialised unit was established at St. George's Hospital in London which has become the Centre of Excellence for the treatment of aplastic anaemia in the UK. This unit also houses the only research laboratory dedicated solely to studying aplastic anaemia and its allied disorders. Such is the reputation of the unit lead by Professor Gordon-Smith, it is involved either directly or indirectly, by as many as 80% of sufferers.
The Aspinall Foundation
The Aspinall Foundation in conjunction with Howletts and Port Lympne Wild Animal Parks in Kent is devoted to saving rare and endangered animals and returning them to protected areas in the wild. These activities include the management of two gorilla rescue and rehabilitation projects in Congo and Gabon, Central Africa, where we have successfully reintroduced over fifty western lowland gorillas. Forty-three of these are wild-born gorillas, orphans of the bush meat trade.
Working together with The Aspinall Foundation your support will make a real difference to the future of the western lowland gorilla and other endangered animals whose future is in all our hands.
Established as a registered charity in 1988, The Barn Owl Trust has been working to conserve these wonderful birds since 1985. The main areas of our work are practical conservation, education, provision of information and research. We also run a small sanctuary for injured and abandoned owls.
Book Aid International provides thousands of books every year to libraries and NGOs in 12 countries in sub-Saharan Africa, to help improve reading and learning for the world’s poorest people.
British Institute of Learning Disabilities
BILD's mission is to help improve the quality of life of people with a
learning disability by involving them and their families in all aspects
of our work. This means working with government and other bodies to
achieve full citizenship, undertaking beneficial research and
development projects, and helping service providers to develop and share

Buglife – The Invertebrae Conservation Trust
Buglife is the first organisation in Europe devoted to the pioneering conservation of all invertebrates - the charity is actively engaged in saving Britain’s endangered bees, ladybirds, beetles, spiders, snails, grasshoppers and many more fascinating invertebrates.
The Cat & Rabbit Rescue Centre take in unwanted, abandoned and stray cats, kittens, rabbits & guinea pigs and give them a good quality of life, until it's possible to find a loving, permanent home for them. Educate the public in responsible pet ownership. Eliminate indiscriminate breeding by encouraging neutering of all pets. Advise and help the public in controlling ferals.
CavyRescue
CavyRescue (registered charity number 1111583) was set up in 1999 by husband and wife team Jason and Stella Hulott. Since it’s formation the charity has rescued, rehabilitated and rehomed over 2,300 small furries (guinea pigs, rabbits, hamsters and rats etc) via the shelter – which is run from home – and its website. Their aim is to educate individuals and organisations on small animal healthcare and welfare, regularly running successful campaigns to this effect. The charity’s 5-year plan is to purpose build a sanctuary with an on-site vet and veterinary training facilities.
Chester Zoo
Chester Zoo exists to support and promote conservation by breeding threatened species and by providing excellent animal welfare, high quality public service, recreation, education and science. The zoo’s conservation work involves breeding programmes, public education and research and supports over 40 conservation programmes in 22 different countries.
Child Victim Support
Child Victim Support exists to take care of children that suffer from a range of evils including physical abuse, sexual abuse and victimisation by crime. Child Victim Support can only continue to make a difference to children’s lives through the generous support of our valued sponsors.

The Epilepsy Research Foundation
The Epilepsy Research Foundation promotes and supports basic and clinical scientific research into the causes, treatment and prevention of epilepsy. The Foundation is a national organisation that funds independent research exclusively into epilepsy and since 1991 we have allocated over£2.7 million to research teams throughout the UK.
EveryChild
EveryChild is an international development charity dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable and excluded children around the world. We believe children have the right to grow up in a secure, safe, family environment, free from poverty and exploitation. Our projects give children the tools they need to shape their own futures. In order to do this we listen to what the communities tell us, and design each project to meet their specific needs. Ours is not a quick-fix approach to poverty, we make sure our solutions take root in communities, delivering lasting improvements to children's lives.
Working to promote the quality of family life for those parents and children who experience disadvantage as a result of poverty through the provision of and by promoting access to holidays and other recreational activities. In 2005 over 1,200 families went on holiday as a result of our grant making programme.
Feed The Children

Feed The Children works with vulnerable children and their families in communities across the world, in situations of poverty, conflict and famine. As well as responding to disaster and emergency situations we support children who are abandoned or homeless and those affected by HIV/Aids, including education in impoverished areas and vocational training for older children.
Football Aid
Football Aid has teamed up with Recycling Appeal to help raise funds through the return of used printer cartridges, mobile phones and PDA’s. Football Aid allows supporters the chance to ‘Live the Dream’ and play in an officiated 90 minute game of football on the hallowed turf of the club they support.
Foundation of Nursing Studies
The Foundation is working to support nurses, midwives and health visitors who are developing healthcare practice to improve patient care.

The Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths (FSID) is one of the UK’s leading baby charities working to prevent infant deaths and promote baby health.
Francis House
Francis House Children’s Hospice offers the families of very sick children a respite from their role as carers and gives the children a loving home away from home.
Froglife
Froglife is a national wildlife charity concerned with the protection of Britain’s amphibians and reptiles all of which are increasingly under threat. Froglife works to support and promote conservation by providing advice, information, education and training to a wide range of people, from those working in the field to people wanting to know more about the wildlife in their garden.
Global Care is an international charity providing care, relief, development, education and other programmes to some of the world’s neediest children and young people.
Grove House
Grove House leads the way in supporting patients, families and friends living with cancer or a life-threatening illness in St.Albans, Harpenden, Hemel Hempstead and the surrounding areas. This unique and forward thinking service provides specialist care and advice from the time of diagnosis focusing on the individual and promoting patient choice.
The Haemophilia Society, founded in 1950, is the national patient group for people with haemophilia, von Willebrand's and related bleeding disorders. With a freephone helpline offering specialist information, the Haemophilia Society provides information, advice and support services to people living with a bleeding disorder and their families. In addition to campaigning to secure the best possible care and treatment they run programmes for young people, provide benefits advice service and operate a hardship fund. 16 local Haemophilia society support groups operate around the UK .
HCJB-UK
HCJB-UK is the British Office of HCJB World Radio. We support the international work of HCJB which includes healthcare and broadcasting. We also run UK-based ministries to further our aim of getting good quality Christian content onto local radio stations: producing radio programmes, providing material for Christian radio producers on our Audiopot website and offering advice and training.
Health Initiatives
Health Initiatives (HI) aims to empower young people, under the age of 27, who are living with HIV/AIDS. They provide tailored services & training with accurate, age appropriate information and counselling that motivates young people to take control of their lives when testing and living with HIV/AIDS.
Help for Heroes
Help for Heroes is a new charity set up to help Servicemen and Women who have been wounded during operational tours. Its first aim is to raise vital funds to build a new gym and full size swimming pool complex at Headley Court. The new facilities will help wounded soldiers with the long process of rehabilitation and recovery.
Hughes Syndrome Foundation

Hughes Syndrome is an autoimmune disorder which causes headaches migraines, strokes and thrombosis - it also causes recurrent miscarriage. Once diagnosed, Hughes Syndrome is potentially treatable but, as the condition is relatively new, it often goes undetected or misdiagnosed. The Foundation hopes to raise awareness of Hughes Syndrome so that we can discover more about its causes, prevalence and treatment.
The International Childcare Trust
The International Childcare Trust exists for the purpose of relieving poverty, relieving sickness and advancing the education of children and young persons anywhere in the world who are in a condition of need, hardship or distress. The charity provide s practical help and aid to children in developing countries either through direct action with the child or through projects that assist the families of children. The projects are managed and staffed by local people.
The Jennifer Trust for Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) provides support, information and friendship to all those whose lives are affected by SMA: a genetically inherited muscle wasting condition, for which 1 in 40 of us are carriers. In its severest form, SMA is the biggest genetic cause of infant death in the UK today. There is currently no treatment or cure.
Founded in 1961, Kidney Research UK is the country's leading charity funding research focusing on the prevention, treatment and management of kidney disease. Kidney Research UK also dedicates its work to improving patient care and raising awareness of kidney disease. Kidney Research UK is funded almost entirely by voluntary donations and every contribution makes an impact on the Charity's work. By recycling your used mobile phones, printer cartridges and PDA's you can help raise valuable funds without spending a penny!
The Labour Party is delighted to join forces with the Recycling Appeal, a partnership that will help progress the party’s aim to promote recycling and also raise money to help build a better Britain.
Lane-Fox Respiratory Unit Patients' Association (LFRUPA)
The Lane-Fox Respiratory Unit provides highly specialised care for patients, who are dependent on ventilators to breathe, due to an accident, illness or neuro-muscular disease such as Polio, Scoliosis, Muscular Dystrophy, Motor Neurone. The Lane-Fox Patients' Association has been working in partnership with the unit since 1974 and is committed to improving the quality of life for patients and their families.
Manor Ware Collectors Club is a club for people who collect Manor Ware. The club was established in 2006 and is generating funds to research the history of Manor Ware.
The Marine Connection
The Marine Connection is an international charity committed to the care and protection of dolphins and whales.
The Meningitis Trust
The Meningitis Trust is working towards a world that is free from meningitis and meningococcal septicaemia (blood poisoning) and where those affected receive quality care and support for life. It offers a range of services to health professionals, the general public and to those affected by meningitis. It’s helping to rebuild lives with its vital support services including a 24–hour nurse–led helpline, professional counselling, home visiting and financial grants. It’s also trying to save lives by raising awareness of the disease through education and training and new research programmes.
MGFT Animal Sanctuary
MGFT is an animal welfare charity. Our headquarters at Church Knowle are set in 35 acres of the Isle of Purbeck and consists of fields, stabling, intensive nursing units, catteries and vegetable gardens. We employ around 20 animal welfare workers and also rely on a large number of volunteers. We are open all year to the public, have an education suite for visiting schools and work in association with local special needs groups with a variety of projects.
Momentum
Momentum works throughout Scotland to enable and empower disabled and excluded people to identify and achieve their goals. We offer personal support, care services and vocational training in 29 projects and we fundraise to support this work. We are perhaps best known for our work with people with acquired disability through sustaining a head or spinal injury.
Motability
Motability is a national UK charity which provides mobility solutions for disabled people. The organisation helps disabled people and their families become more mobile by providing access to cars, powered wheelchairs and scooters.
Myasthenia Gravis Association
The Myasthenia Gravis Association is a Charity working from its headquarters through its Regional Organisers, Branches and Representatives throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland. The charity offers support to Myasthenics and their families, increasing public and medical awareness and raising funds for research in order to find a cure. Recent research has resulted in more understanding and better management of the disease but there is still no cure.
More than 70,000 people are living with HIV in the UK, but their voices are often not heard by decision makers, the media and the public. The issues faced by people living with HIV in the UK are too often ignored or their experiences not understood and many people don’t know about the realities of living with HIV.
The National AIDS Trust is the UK’s leading independent policy and campaigning voice on HIV and AIDS. As a registered charity we develop policies and campaign to halt the spread of HIV, and improve the quality of life of people living with HIV and AIDS, both in the UK and internationally.
Recycling your old mobile phones and printer cartridges is a great way to raise valuable funds for the National AIDS Trust so that we can continue our valuable work and get people talking about HIV.

The National Children’s Bureau (NCB) is the only national charity that promotes the voices, well-being and interests of all children and young people across every aspect of their lives. NCB puts children and young people first through quality research, practical solutions, policy development and information dissemination across issues of health, education, living environments and social welfare.
The National Pyramid Trust
The National Pyramid Trust helps primary school children to fulfill their potential by building their self esteem and resilience. Their aim is to reach as many children as possible and to establish a routine check of their emotional health needs so that difficulties can be tackled early and effectively.
New Hall, University of Cambridge
New Hall started with one shilling in 1954 and has therefore little or no endowment. To overcome the threats facing higher education today, we must build up the College's endowment to ensure a firm financial footing for the future. We are fundraising for financial support, to outstanding women students regardless of their geographical, ethnic, religious, social or educational background.

Ovacome

The Rose Road Association provides quality education, health and social opportunities for children and young adults with profound and multiple learning difficulties and other complex disabilities throughout SW and central Hampshire. It is based at the Bradbury Centre in Southampton and has specialist facilities which include a hydrotherapy pool, sensory and soft play rooms.
Royal & Derngate Theatres
The Royal & Derngate Theatres are currently undergoing a major redevelopment project scheduled for completion in 2006. There’s still some way to go to raise the £14 million required to fund the project and that’s where you can help by recycling your old cartridges, mobiles and PDAs.

Simon Community
Simon Community is Northern Ireland's leading homeless charity, addressing homelessness for over 35 years. Simon Community believes that everyone has a fundamental right to a home, and actively responds to the needs of homeless people through initiatives aimed at prevention, provision, and progression to independent living. Official statistics from Northern Ireland Housing Executive indicated last year that 20,101 households were presented as homeless, of which Simon Community Northern Ireland were only able to accommodate 1,012 individuals and families.
Sisters and Brothers
The Sisters and Brothers Recycling Appeal will help two religious orders based in Scotland raise money for special projects, namely the Little Sisters of the poor new Holy Rosary home in Greenock and the Cistercian Monks at Nunraw for the wall they need to build around their Nigerian seminary Our Lady of the Angels.

Southern Area Hospice Services (SAHS)

The Thistle Foundation is a charity that works in a unique way to provide services for socially excluded people who often face disadvantage and barriers to leading a full and active life. The Thistle Foundation works across Scotland and our services are both innovative and pioneering and are delivered in a person centred way.
The Tibet Relief Fund Of The United Kingdom
The Tibet Relief Fund supports Tibetan refugees in India and Nepal and Tibetans inside Tibet. Projects focus on education, healthcare, youth employment initiatives and community building, in order to achieve sustainability and self-sufficiency in Tibetan communities. The Tibet Relief Fund also runs a sponsorship programme and our beneficiaries include children in day school and residential education, monks, students in university or further education and elderly Tibetans.
Traidcraft
Traidcraft is the UK’s largest fair trade organisation, set up in 1979 to help poor communities work their way out of poverty. Activities range from helping 100 producer groups in over 30 countries build sustainable livelihoods to engaging in policy work and campaigning to influence UK and EU policy-makers and raise public awareness of poverty and trade issues.
The UK Sports Association for People with Learning Disability (UKSA or UKSAPLD) is the UK national charity which co-ordinates and promotes sport and recreation for all people with learning disabilities in the UK. At an international level, UKSA has the lead role in ensuring that all athletes with learning disabilities who wish to compete at Great Britain and international level competition are appropriately registered with the International organisation, INAS-FID.
The Westminster Society for People with Learning Disabilities
The Westminster Society provides quality services and creates new opportunities for people with learning disabilities and their families in Westminster. Our wide range of services include: registered care homes, supported housing and independent flats, drop-in and outreach services, social, educational and leisure clubs, a family centre and family services team.
