Recycle your phones and ink cartridges to help protect wetlands and wildlife around the world
Released on 05.01.10
Not only does recycling old mobile phones and printer cartridges reduce the amount of waste going to landfill, and prevent toxic pollution creeping into soil, but it can also help contribute towards preserving wetlands around the world.
The Recycling Appeal undertaken by the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust (WWT) forms an important source of additional funding to support its vital global conservation work.
WWT is asking supporters to look for old mobile phones and printer cartridges that may be lying around at home, and use the freepost envelope included in this issue of Waterlife to send them to the Recycling Appeal.
Money raised will go towards running WWT’s nine wetland centres in the UK, contributing to its education programme which benefits over 60,000 school children every year and also helps fund important overseas projects.
