Recycling Appeal Start Date: March 2006 Registered Charity No: 1069485 |
Until recently, Wales was the only country in Europe without a dedicated Children's Hospital. The Noah's Ark Appeal was set up in May 2000 to raise the money needed to build, equip and support the Children's Hospital for Wales, which will treat over 10,000 in-patients and a further 16,000 out-patients each year. The first phase of the Children's Hospital for Wales - comprising two medical wards, two floors dedicated to children with cancer, an education room and playrooms on each floor - admitted its first patients in spring 2005.
Support for the Appeal has been phenomenal and has enabled The Noah's Ark Appeal to raise the money needed to complete the first phase of the Children's Hospital for Wales. With the money raised, the Appeal has provided the hospital with brand new equipment and has funded an art programme which will ensure that a stay in hospital is less frightening for a young patient. However, the Noah's Ark Appeal's work cannot stop there.
Fundraising Project
It is vital that the Noah's Ark Appeal continues fundraising to support the Children's Hospital for Wales, to maintain the world class facilities that it has provided and to support much needed projects at the hospital including a teenage cancer unit, a children's eye clinic and a private garden situated in the grounds of the Children's Hospital. We still need your help. Please help us to make a difference to the sick children of Wales.
