120,000 people have Parkinson’s in the UK, and 10,000 are diagnosed every year. The Parkinson’s Disease Society (PDS) is the UK’s leading charity dedicated to supporting all people with Parkinson’s, their families, friends and carers.
We believe that all people with Parkinson’s should have high quality health care and the help and support they need close to home, wherever they live. Every year, over 100,000 items of printed information resources leave our warehouse. Our free Helpline service, staffed by registered nurses and expert advisors, deals with more than 17,000 enquiries a year by telephone, email, and letter. We have invested more than £7 million in developing Parkinson’s Disease Nurse Specialist posts already and are committed to working with health providers to increase the number of similar posts across the UK.
We also commit over £4 million each year to world-leading research into causes, better treatments, cures and practical help – but more is needed. Support us through Recycling Appeal and help us defeat Parkinson’s.
Fundraising Project
By recycling on behalf of the PDS, you could help to improve the lives of people affected by Parkinson’s today, and provide hope of a cure in the future.
5 mobiles could help pay for a PDS Helpline nurse to take calls for an hour.
2 mobiles and 2 inkjets could enable a Community Support Worker to give expert advice on benefits to a person with Parkinson’s.
Please Note: We recycle all mobile phones however we cannot accept epson, epson compatible or damaged cartridges. For a full list of accepted printer cartridges click here.
Simply let us know how many items you have ready for recycling and we will do the rest!
