Recycling Appeal Start Date: June 2005
Registered Charity No: 208231

For over 50 years, Scope has fought for better opportunities and services for people with cerebral palsy (cp), a physical condition that affects movement, posture and communication.

Every six hours a child is born with cp - that’s one in four hundred births. This makes cerebral palsy the most common cause of childhood physical disability in the UK.

When a baby is born with cerebral palsy, Scope can be one of the first places people go to get simple and clear information that parents, carers and disabled people can rely on. Throughout the life of a disabled person, the emotional and practical support we offer helps everyone affected by cp to make informed decisions about their future.

To continue our vital work, we would be delighted if you would like to recycle for Scope, and help drive the change to make our society the first where disabled people achieve equality. For more information please visit www.scope.org.uk

Fundraising Project

Scope has a number of services to help disabled people reach their full potential. These include our education and early year’s services. Right from the point at which a child is diagnosed as disabled, our principal aim is the promotion of inclusion, and the goal is for all disabled children to have the opportunity to participate in mainstream education. Our 40 independent living services help disabled people do the things which non-disabled people take for granted. We run a number of employment related initiatives designed to equip disabled people with the skills to get a job. Finally we provide a free and confidential advice and support service for all disabled people and their families in England and Wales, Scope Response provides advice and support to over 1000 people every month, who make contact by phone, text, web or email. Our expert team assesses the needs of the client, and works with services both inside and outside Scope to ensure that as far as possible those needs are met.
